Powder Horn Straps

I just finished up making these two different powder horn straps for a gentlemen who is doing a western fur trade persona. He wanted one that he could attach to the strap of his bag and one that was adjustable, so this is what I came up with.

I braided some jute adding iron O-rings and leather wags to attach the horn with and on the other ends I cut a small strip of leather strapping and attached the braid to them. He can now attach them to his bag strap. The braided strap is treated with bee's wax and a little dye rubbed in to give it a little patina.

The other strap is a full adjustable strap with a iron buckle and iron D-ring attached to the ends and leather wags to attach the horn with.
